VP Harris' new hire Jamal Simmons donated to Rand Paul campaign, FEC data shows
Fox News
More information emerged Saturday about Jamal Simmons, who was recently hired as communications director for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Simmons previously expressed support for Paul in 2014, when he responded to the senator's call for speeding up deportations of "DREAMers and other immigrant children."
"I liked him so much last week," Simmons wrote about the senator.
Paul, from Kentucky, was first elected to the Senate in 2010. He launched his presidential campaign in 2015 but dropped out of the race after a disappointing finish in the Iowa caucuses in February 2016. Donald Trump won the GOP nomination later that year and was elected president. Paul was re-elected to the Senate in 2016.
