Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday paid floral tributes to Mahakavi Subramania Bharati to mark the death centenary of the poet and freedom fighter at his memorial home in the city. Mr. Naidu, on his arrival on a three-day visit, first went from the airport to the Mahakavi Subramania Bharathiar Memorial Museum-cum-Research Centre and paid floral tributes to the portrait of the poet. Lt. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy accompanied the Vice-President.More Related News

After more-than-two-year wait, the flyover at Goripalayam junction will be commissioned on Saturday. As of now, the main arm of the new flyover, named after freedom fighter Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, will help to decongest vehicular movement from Tamukkam junction till Nelpettai junction on East Veli Street.
