
Vatican offers to mediate Israel-Gaza conflict, negotiate hostage release

Vatican City Secretary of State Pietro Parolin said Saturday that the Holy See is prepared to mediate peace talks between Israel and Hamas.
"The release of Israeli hostages and the protection of innocent lives in Gaza are at the heart of the problem created by Hamas's attack and the response of the Israeli army," said Parolin.
