The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the transfer of the Gyanvapi mosque case from civil judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar to the district judge, Varanasi in a view complexity of matters. The district judge is the seniormost judge in Varanasi
The Court asked the district judge to decide on priority, the issue of 'maintainability' in the case as sought by the mosque committee. The committee says that a case over the right to worship in the mosque complex, and the court-ordered filming are both illegal.
