Varanasi floods: Several areas under water as Ganga breaches danger-mark, rescue operations on

The rising water in the Ganges has displaced hundreds of people from their homes. The authorities are now carrying out rescue operations throughout the day to get people to safety.

There is a sense of panic among residents of low-lying areas in PM Modi's Varanasi constituency as the water level continues to rise. Owing to the rise in water level, urban colonies have started getting inundated and boats are plying on city streets. The water level of the river Ganga has already crossed the danger mark and it is still rising.
