Vaccination centre in NCR turns away people despite slot confirmation message

Even as the vaccination drive continues in NCR, there are many beneficiaries who have failed to get the jab despite a confirmation message and appointment slip. These people have reportedly turned away since their names were missing on the CoWIN’s appointment database.

When India kicked off its inoculation drive in January this year, people heaved a collective sigh of relief, hoping that the vaccine could finally be the beginning of the end of the Covid-19 trauma. Months later, the situation on the ground is far from perfect with states and UTs sending SOS alerts to the Centre over vaccine scarcity, people are being turned away from vaccination centres.
