Uttar Pradesh block pramukh election: Preparations in full swing, polling and counting on July 10

The block pramukh election assumes importance as the ruling BJP and is eyeing maximum gains to strengthen their position ahead of the 2022 Vidhan Sabha elections. Though it is an indirect election the results would give a psychological boost to the winning party.
Lucknow: The political stage is set for another grassroots election with the Uttar Pradesh State Election Commission (SEC) announcing the schedule for block pramukh (chairperson of the kshetra panchayats) polls. The election will be held for 825 of the 826 blocks, the only exception being Mujhena block in Gonda where the term of block pramukh will conclude in 2022. More than 75,500 ward members will choose block chairman during the electoral process.More Related News
