Gaetz, one of the House members most loyal to Donald Trump during his presidency, has not been charged with a crime.
A US congressional ethics panel said Friday it has opened an investigation into the actions of Matt Gaetz, a Republican lawmaker who faces allegations of sex trafficking and having sex with a minor. The House Ethics Committee said in a statement it was aware of allegations Gaetz "may have engaged in sexual misconduct and/or illicit drug use, shared inappropriate images or videos on the House floor, misused state identification records, converted campaign funds to personal use, and/or accepted a bribe, improper gratuity, or impermissible gift, in violation of House Rules, laws, or other standards of conduct." Gaetz, one of the House members most loyal to Donald Trump during his presidency, has not been charged with a crime.
