US Capitol Police investigating 35 officers for roles in riot

Law enforcement and military are among more than 100 people charged by federal authorities in relation to January riot.
Thirty-five US Capitol Police officers are being investigated for their actions during the January 6 riot at the Capitol, and six of those have been suspended with pay, the police department said in a statement on Friday. “Acting Chief Yogananda Pittman has directed that any member of her department whose behaviour is not in keeping with the department’s rules of conduct will face appropriate discipline,” spokesman John Stolnis said in the statement.
