Around 40% attendance was reported for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil services preliminary examination organised at 32 centres in the district on Sunday.
According to the officials, about 12,167 candidates have registered for the examination which was held in two sessions. While the first session registered 40.80 % attendance, second session recorded 40.23% attendance.
A crowd comprising farmers, researchers, professors, students, and horticulture enthusiasts thronged the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR), Hesaraghatta, Bengaluru, on Friday for the inaugural ceremony of the Triphal Diversity Show which showcased 300 mango, 100 jackfruit, and 100 banana genotypes in collaboration with ICAR-National Research Centre for Banana, Tiruchirappalli.

Mullai Muhilan said here on Friday that over 600 staff will be involved in the counting of votes cast in the April 26 elections, at the counting centre at the National Institute of Technology – Karnataka, Surathkal, on June 4.
