UP prison department conferred with prestigious FICCI smart policing award

Uttar Pradesh prison department on Saturday bagged the prestigious FICCI Smart Policing Award 2021.

Uttar Pradesh prison department on Saturday bagged the prestigious FICCI Smart Policing Award 2021 for it's exemplary work done using artificial intelligence platform JARVIS. Uttar Pradesh is the first state to use software and artificial intelligence for monitoring of prisons. Apart from monitoring, it also helped the department in Covid-19 management which resulted in zero casualties in UP prisons during pandemic. While speaking to India Today, DG prison administration and reform services Anand Kumar said, "With immense pleasure, I can say it's a matter of pride as UP is the only state in the country who got this award in the prison category."
