UP govt likely to give house on subsidy to employees, advocates with low incomes

A draft scheme has been prepared by Uttar Pradesh officials, under which houses will be given to employees and advocates with low incomes on subsidies.

The Uttar Pradesh government is likely to provide houses on subsidies to lakhs of employees and advocates with low incomes. The nominal value of the land will be charged only Re 1 from the buyers of these houses. The discount will be given to the buyers on the condition that they will not be able to sell the house for the next 10 years.

Sources said the draft of the scheme was prepared during the meeting of higher officials. Now, the approval from higher authorities is needed, following which the draft will be passed by the cabinet. The benefits of this scheme will be available only after the proposal is passed by the cabinet, sources said.
