While many of the restrictions are still in place in most of the country, 12 states and two Union Territories have taken initial steps in easing the virus curbs.
The daily case at 1.52 lakhs reported on May 30 was the lowest since April 9 and the daily death figure at 3,128 was the lowest since April 26. The rate of transmission, of which positivity is a key indicator, is under control in 44 per cent of the districts, the latest data released by the ministry of health and family welfare show.
