The United Cajun Navy, the nonprofit volunteer group that aids in search and rescue operations, is suspending its search efforts for the missing crew members of the commercial liftboat that capsized last month.
Nineteen people were on board the Seacor Power, a 129-foot commercial liftboat, when it capsized April 13 about seven miles off the coast of Louisiana, according to the US Coast Guard. Six people were rescued, six bodies have been recovered and seven people remain missing. Officials have said the details of the ship's mission and where it was going are under investigation. Liftboats are used to service oil platforms and other offshore assets like wind farms.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth risked compromising sensitive military information that could have endangered US troops through his use of Signal to discuss attack plans, a Pentagon watchdog said in an unclassified report released Thursday. It also details how Hegseth declined to cooperate with the probe.

Two top House lawmakers emerged divided along party lines after a private briefing with the military official who oversaw September’s attack on an alleged drug vessel that included a so-called double-tap strike that killed surviving crew members, with a top Democrat calling video of the incident that was shared as part of the briefing “one of the most troubling things” he has seen as a lawmaker.
