New York: The United Nations (UN) launched on Thursday a global call to action to reduce the consequences of rising temperatures.
In his statements, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres noted that last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday witnessed breaking global temperature records, according to data issued by the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service.
Guterres warned that extreme temperatures are now an ongoing global issue and not isolated incidents.
The heat wave has led to dire consequences.
