Ujjain villagers attack medical team believing vaccines are fatal, leave one injured

A medical team carrying out a vaccination drive in Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain was attacked by villagers with sticks and rods on Monday. One member of the medical team suffered injuries on his head and was seen bleeding profusely. A video of the incident has now gone viral on social media showing villagers armed with sticks and rods attacking the medical team in Ujjain. In the clip, the members of the team can be seen trying to escape even as the villagers chase them with sticks. The medical team that was in Malikhedi village under Unhel tehsil in Ujjain was trying to create awareness about Covid-19 vaccination when they came under attack. Police said, "Some villagers verbally abused them and hit the husband of the assistant secretary on his head. An FIR has been registered against 4 persons."
