It could spell serious trouble for Republicans.
President Donald Trump repeatedly claimed during the 2024 presidential campaign that the United States had gone to “hell” under then-President Joe Biden.
A new poll suggests the message may be backfiring.
A new Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll released this week by Harvard’s Center for American Political Studies found that a majority of Americans, some 51%, believe Trump is doing a worse job in the White House than his predecessor.
The survey also showed Trump’s overall approval rating slipping two points to 45%, with declines recorded across every major policy area.
According to the poll, Trump’s most unpopular actions include expanding Immigration and Customs Enforcement as part of his immigration crackdown and withdrawing the United States from international organizations.
