Two veterans, one decade, Tom Brady, and a congressman: An unlikely Afghan escape leads to reunion at the playoffs

It was Tom Brady's name that got his family out of Afghanistan, and it was a Buccaneers game that helped the former Afghan interpreter turned US Army soldier reunite with a veteran friend he hadn't seen for a decade.
The game on Sunday in Tampa was the first time Said Noor and Steve Morse had seen each other since a 2011 firefight against the Taliban in Afghanistan and it was thanks to an unlikely series of events that included a US congressman, a Tom Brady code word, and a pair of VIP tickets courtesy of the Bucs.
"It's like a dream coming true," Noor said.

A federal judge on Friday blocked President Donald Trump’s administration from enforcing most of his executive order on elections against the vote-by-mail states Washington and Oregon, in the latest blow to Trump’s efforts to require documentary proof of citizenship to vote and to require that all ballots be received by Election Day.

A Border Patrol agent shot two people in Portland, Oregon, during a traffic stop after authorities said they were associated with a Venezuelan gang, another incident in a string of confrontations with federal authorities that have left Americans frustrated with immigration enforcement during the Trump administration.
