York police said three suspects were taken into custody after a commercial break and enter in Vaughan Saturday morning.
Around 2 a.m., officers received a report of a commercial break and enter in the area of Kipling and Highway 7 in Vaughan, Duty Insp. Peter Cheung said. When officers arrived on scene, they saw the suspect leaving the area in a stolen vehicle, he said.
“The suspect tried to break containment, but eventually four police cars successfully contained the vehicle,” Cheung told CBC Toronto at the scene. At least two police cars are “no longer operational,” he said.
Another suspect tried to flee, which led to a short pursuit on foot, Cheung said. All three suspects were taken into custody and police also found a loaded firearm.
One suspect was transported to hospital but was not seriously injured, Cheung said.
