
Two minors in custody for gang rape in Belagavi

As per the complaint, the accused are acquaintances of the victim. They had befriended her and taken her to an agriculture field on the pretext of celebrating a birthday party.
Belagavi police have registered a case against three children in conflict with the law, under the Juvenile Justice Act and some provisions of POCSO Act, following the recent gang rape of a minor girl.
Officers have taken two minor boys into custody on the charge of gang rape. One more is absconding. The alleged offence was committed on May 6. The girl’s parents filed a complaint on May 12.
As per the complaint, the accused are acquaintances of the girl. They had befriended her and taken her to an agriculture field on the pretext of celebrating a birthday party.
A case has been registered.
