Twitter reacts after PM Modi's account hacked, says necessary steps taken to secure handle

After PM Modi's Twitter account was briefly hacked early on Sunday, Twitter issued an official statement saying necessary steps to secure the account had been taken.
In the early hours of Sunday, the personal Twitter handle of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was briefly hacked and a tweet promoting cryptocurrency was shared. The Twitter handle of PM @narendramodi was very briefly compromised. The matter was escalated to Twitter and the account has been immediately secured.In the brief period that the account was compromised, any Tweet shared must be ignored. At 12 noon today, will be taking part in the “Depositors First: Guaranteed Time-bound Deposit Insurance Payment up to Rs. 5 Lakh” programme. In response to the incident, Twitter issued an official statement saying, "We have 24x7 open lines of communication with the PM’s Office and our teams took necessary steps to secure the compromised account as soon as we became aware of this activity."
