TSX today: Bay Street opens higher on broad-based gains

Canada’s benchmark stock index opened higher Friday as all subgroups rallied, except for health care.
At 9:45 a.m. ET the S&P/TSX Composite Index was up 143.18 points to 19,599.89. Friday’s gain comes after the TSX rose 202.15 points, or 1.05 per cent, Thursday.
The TSX financials, energy and industrials subgroups were the most influential upside contributors in early trading.
Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., Suncor Energy Inc. and Toronto-Dominion Bank were adding the most points to the index.
