Trump wants to move Manhattan criminal case to federal court, attorney says
CBSN
An attorney for former President Donald Trump said Thursday he will seek to move Trump's criminal case from a state court in Manhattan to federal court.
The attorney, Todd Blanche, told New York Judge Juan Merchan that "the defense anticipates later today seeking removal of this case to federal court." He did not specify the reasoning behind the request.
Trump did not attend the hearing, which came one month after he was arraigned, on April 4, and became the first former president in U.S. history to be charged with crimes. Trump entered a not guilty plea to 34 felony counts of falsification of business records.

Another winter storm may be headed toward the East Coast of the United States this weekend, on the heels of a powerful and deadly system that blanketed huge swaths of the country in snow and ice. The effects of that original storm have lingered for many areas in its path, and will likely remain as repeated bouts of Arctic air plunge downward from Canada and drive temperatures below freezing.
