Trump says he will replace DHS Secretary Kristi Noem with Sen. Markwayne Mullin
CNBC
President Donald Trump on Thursday said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was leaving her post, and that she would be replaced by Sen. Markwayne Mullin, an Oklahoma Republican.
Noem's departure from the Department of Homeland Security came after a wave of criticism of her management of the department and her handling of Trump's immigration enforcement agenda.
"The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!), will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
