As the war with Iran continues, President Donald Trump said he is holding a news conference on Monday, March 9, to address Americans.
The president didn't immediately give details about what he would discuss. But Trump is set to take questions from reporters at the Trump National Doral resort in Florida before returning to the White House.
The press conference is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET, shortly after the stock market closes in the United States.
"Many important meetings and phone calls taking place today," Trump said in a Truth Social post announcing the news conference. The president also said he would attend a 4 p.m. fundraiser for House Speaker Mike Johnson.
The events come as oil prices soared to their highest levels since 2022, and the U.S. average price at the pump reached $3.50. In a Monday morning social media post, Trump called it "a small price to pay."
