
Trump has no authority to decertify Canadian aircraft, expert says

As Prime Minister Mark Carney and Canada's premiers met in Ottawa, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened further tariffs on Canadian-made aircraft.
Carney has classified recent rhetoric on Canada from U.S. President Donald Trump as a precursor to trade negotiations.
He and premiers also faced questions today on a report suggesting Alberta separatists met with officials in Washington. Carney said he expects the United States to “respect Canadian sovereignty.”
Meanwhile, the U.S. president threatened to impose additional tariffs on Canada, as well as decertify Canadian-made aircraft in the U.S.
