Former President Donald Trump spread more than 30,000 falsehoods during his term, according to the Washington Post. But even tens of thousands are a drop in the bucket on social media, where misinformation is weaponized to drive engagement and achieve political ends on topics ranging from Covid-19 vaccines to the results of the 2020 election.
