Despite running as a staunchly anti-transgender and anti-abortion candidate, far-right Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake once posted in support of transgender youth and asked her followers about aborting fetuses who would be born with disabilities in social media posts from 2015 and 2016 reviewed by CNN's KFile.
Lake, a former local news anchor running for Arizona governor who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, has strongly campaigned against abortion and transgender issues. She has attacked repeatedly "the transgender movement" and "woke gender activists."
"A child's gender is determined by God at conception, NOT by some Woke Teacher in the 3rd grade,'' she wrote in one recent Twitter comment. "This insanity must end." She has also campaigned against abortion rights, saying, "I always have and always will fight for the unborn!"

Janet Mills and her allies are counting on a gender gap to narrow Platner’s wide lead ahead of the June 9 primary to decide who will face incumbent Republican Sen. Susan Collins. They are betting that the unfiltered style that has brought Platner widespread attention as someone who could help Democrats reach young men will backfire with women.

As a shrinking number of Transportation Security Administration agents work to keep hourslong security lines moving despite not being paid, President Donald Trump stepped into the fray Saturday, announcing he will send Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to airports by Monday if Congress doesn’t agree to a plan to end the partial government shutdown.
