The Gulf Coast of Florida can expect impacts from Tropical Storm Elsa beginning Monday night in the Keys.
The storm is on track to make landfall on the Gulf Coast of Florida on Wednesday and will be the third named storm to make landfall in the US this season. Prior to landfall, Elsa will bring torrential rain, gusty winds and storm surge to the western Florida Peninsula starting Monday evening as it churns north.
Two top House lawmakers emerged divided along party lines after a private briefing with the military official who oversaw September’s attack on an alleged drug vessel that included a so-called double-tap strike that killed surviving crew members, with a top Democrat calling video of the incident that was shared as part of the briefing “one of the most troubling things” he has seen as a lawmaker.
