The seven pressing questions that’ll shape Knicks’ final 10 games before playoffs

Ten games.
In the most anticipated Knicks season in decades —though certainly not the most climactic or dramatic — that’s all we have left.
It’s a condensed schedule fit into just 17 days, with the potential for seeding maneuvering but more likely a stretch dictated by benefits ancillary to the standings.
If the Knicks build confidence in these final days — particularly in the three matchups against the East’s elite — and they emerge healthy, it’s a victory before Game 1 of the playoffs on April 19.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
