Regarding the Rangers, who on Tuesday morning made the sage choice to send this year’s 12th pick to Pittsburgh to complete the J.T. Miller deal instead of deferring the transfer to next year.
1. I can tell you with assurance that this does not imply the Blueshirts will use their 2026 first-rounder for an offer sheet this summer.
That is not going to happen.
First, the Rangers do not have enough cap space to make a consequential offer sheet without becoming immediately vulnerable to an offer sheet raid on Will Cuylle.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season.
