The 15 countries of the United Nations Security Council have unanimously backed a message aimed squarely at Myanmar's military coup leaders: Stop attacking pro-democracy demonstrators and show restraint. In its strongest sounding statement since the junta seized power last month, the Council emphasized its support for democracy in Myanmar, reiterated "deep concern" over the coup and called for the release of detained civilian leaders including State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and President Win Myint.More Related News
