Of course it matters which veteran quarterback eventually makes his way to the Giants. That player could end up starting on Opening Day.
And so, whatever news, semi-news and non-news is swirling out there regarding Aaron Rodgers, it does affect the Giants, as they are in on the 41-year old and seemingly will wait as long as they can to see what Rodgers decides to do.
There were all sorts of “updates’’ on Wednesday: The Vikings are out on Rodgers and fully committed to 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy.
The Vikings are not interested in Rodgers now, but they might be later.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.
