Fox News
Texans voted overwhelmingly in favor of a ballot measure green-lighting a billion-dollar program to ensure the state develops more fossil fuel power generation.
"TXOGA is pleased to see infrastructure propositions to expand water, electricity and broadband pass with overwhelming support from voters," Todd Staples, the president of the Texas Oil & Gas Association, said in a statement Tuesday evening. "By voting to approve these propositions, Texans are ensuring that the Lone Star State continues to be the best place to live, work, play and raise a family." Thomas Catenacci is a politics writer for Fox News Digital.
He added that Proposition 7 will help "strengthen the reliability of our electric grid by ensuring it performs no matter the weather as well as increase the supply of electricity by encouraging additional generation."
