A Texas man shot at code enforcement and police officers Wednesday over lawn care before barricading himself inside a home that eventually caught fire, police said.
Officers and city code enforcement personnel arrived at the home in the 10600 block of Pinkney Lane around 9:15 a.m. to conduct a standby for lawn maintenance at the time of the shooting, Austin Police Officer Jose Mendez said.
"They attempted to go there and cut the lawn for him, and this is the reaction they got," he said.
