
Texas attorney general threatens to sue unless Austin leaders rescind mask requirement

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has threatened to sue Austin and Travis County leaders over their coronavirus masking requirements.
In a letter sent to Austin Mayor Steve Adler and Travis County Judge Andy Brown, Paxton said he would sue unless local mask mandates in place were rescinded by Wednesday, March 10, at 6 p.m. CST. But both leaders say they won't back down on their requirement. Adler told CNN Thursday morning, "I would anticipate to be sued today."
