Telegram has started rolling out an update that brings new abilities to the app and improves upon some known bugs in the service. Here is a look at all that is new with Telegram.
Telegram Messenger is rolling out multiple new features to its users. In a new update, the instant messaging app now brings better navigation capabilities, new video stickers, new reactions, and a button to review unseen reactions on the app.
The update is now rolling out to the Telegram app for both Android and iOS, as noted by the company in a new blog post announcing the features. Android users who downloaded the Telegram app from its website instead of the Play Store can also enjoy the new abilities.
Here is a look at all these features in detail -
As mentioned, Telegram now offers a new feature that will let users create animated stickers from regular videos. This is an update to the animated stickers used on the app previously, which needed specialized software such as Adobe Illustrator for creation.
With the update, Telegram will have the ability to support stickers converted from regular videos. This means anyone can now easily create detailed animated stickers using any video editing program. Users creating new stickers can publish their sticker packs with the @Stickers bot or add some of the new sets made by others.
Developers can also use the Sticker Import API to create new apps that will allow the creation and import of such stickers to Telegram.
Telegram has also made some changes to the reactions on the app, which now have more compact animations. To send a larger effect, users will now have to press and hold on to a reaction in the menu. Reactions will also be synchronized on Telegram going forward, just like interactive emoji, meaning that the recipient will be able to see the animations in real-time.
