A teenage girl was arrested after a stabbing Monday at H.B. Beal Secondary School in downtown London, Ont., that left a female in hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, London police said.
"At approximately 11:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a report of a stabbing at a school in the 500-block of Dundas Street," police said in a release.
Some students told CBC News they heard screams in the school's cafeteria and saw that someone had been stabbed. They said they've been told to stay out of the cafeteria.
Police say the investigation is in its early stages and they will provide more information as it becomes available.
This is the second stabbing in two months at a London high school.
In September, a 16-year-old was charged with stabbing two other teens at A.B. Lucas Secondary School during the lunch hour.
P.E.I.'s Public Schools Branch is looking for 50 substitute bus drivers, and it'll be recruiting at three job fairs on Saturday, June 8. The job fairs are located at the Atlantic Superstore in Montague, Royalty Crossing in Charlottetown, and the bus parking lot of Three Oaks Senior High in Summerside. All three run from 9 a.m. until noon. Dave Gillis, the director of transportation and risk management for the Public Schools Branch, said the number of substitute drivers they're hiring isn't unusual. "We are always looking for more. Our drivers tend to have an older demographic," he said.
