Senior AIADMK leaders and former Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam and Edapadi K Palaniswami hit out at the MK Stalin government of the DMK alleging that it was planning to shut down Amma mini-clinics. OPS and EPS charged that the dispensaries were the new target of the Stalin government after it severely scaled down the Amma canteens launched by the previous AIADMK government.
Both the Amma mini-clinics and the Amma canteens were named after former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who passed away after long illness in 2016.
