Regular supply from Odisha affected by Cyclone Tauktae
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday said the Tamil Nadu government had taken steps to get more oxygen from the Centre and Maharashtra as the regular supply from Odisha had been affected by Cyclone Tauktae. “I have written to Railways Minister Piyush Goyal for supply of 900 metric tonnes of oxygen, and the letter was personally handed over to him by DMK parliamentary party leader T.R Baalu. Mr. Goyal has promised supply,” he said, addressing a consultative panel of MLAs from all parties at the Secretariat. At present, Tamil Nadu is getting 100 metric tonnes of oxygen from Odisha on a regular basis, and two IAS officers are staying there to monitor the supply. The Centre has already increased the supply from 480 metric tonnes to 519 metric tonnes. “We have held talks with the Maharashtra government to get 900 metric tonnes of oxygen. It is under the government’s consideration. An IAS officer is in the State to oversee supply,” he said.More Related News
