Systemic cybersecurity failures persist across federal agencies, Senate report finds

Key agencies across the federal government continue to fail meet basic cybersecurity standards, according to a new Senate report released Tuesday, which found systematic failures to safeguard data.
Amid a rise of state-sponsored hacks and ransomware cybersecurity incidents, seven agencies were found to have failed at effectively securing data, the report concluded, resulting in an average grade of C- for the large federal agencies. Only the Department of Homeland Security had an effective cybersecurity program for 2020, according to the report.
