Seoul: Iga Swiatek blew off the cobwebs from her US Open quarter-final defeat to Amanda Anisimova to ease into the last eight of the Korea Open on Thursday.
The six-time Grand Slam champion from Poland beat Romania's Sorana Cirstea 6-3, 6-2 and will face Emma Raducanu or Barbora Krejcikova next in Seoul.
World number two Swiatek, defeated in straight sets by eventual finalist Anisimova in New York two weeks ago, was never seriously troubled by unseeded Cirstea.
"For sure the conditions are much different from our last tournament," Swiatek told the crowd in the South Korean capital, where there has been heavy rain this week.
"Happy that I could adjust quickly. I really love it here, it's beautiful when it's not raining so happy to be here."
