Ontario Provincial Police were called around 6 p.m. to respond to a disturbance on Jody Lane in the community.
“Investigation determined an unknown person was dropped off at a local trailer park in Heyden and was serving beer to minors, making obscene gestures to the youth and to the complainant,” police said in a news release Wednesday.
The complainant, concerned for the well-being of the youth, asked the suspect person to leave the area several times.
“During the encounters, the individual threatened to break the complainant's legs twice, threw and struck the complainant with a beer can twice and continued to make obscene gestures, continued swearing and being belligerent,” police said.
“Police arrived on scene a short time later and located the accused. The accused became belligerent and confrontational towards police. A struggle ensued with police effecting an arrest.”
Charges include assault with a weapon, uttering threats, resisting arrest, supplying liquor to persons under 19 and having open liquor.
