Still in limbo in Australia, Djokovic tries to clear up "misinformation" about his COVID status and activities before he arrived

Melbourne, Australia — Novak Djokovic said Wednesday he knew he'd tested positive for COVID-19 when he attended a newspaper interview and photo shoot at his tennis center in Serbia last month, and added that he made an "error of judgment" and should have immediately gone into isolation.
Djokovic made the admission in a social media post as he sought to clarify "ongoing misinformation" about his movements after he tested positive last month.
"This is information which needs to be corrected," he wrote, "particularly in the interest of alleviating broader concern in the community about my presence in Australia, and to address matters which are very hurtful and concerning to my family."
