Andhra Pradesh government allocates ₹1 crore for Srimukhalingam temple development, aiming for UNESCO recognition, praised by temple chief priest.
Andhra Pradesh government sanctioned ₹1 crore under Common Good Fund (CGF) for the speedy development of historic Lord Shiva’s Srimukhalingam temple, located in Jalumuru of Srikakulam district. The State Endowments Department issued orders recently for the construction of pilgrim amenity centre and other facilities. The temple chief priest Naidugari Rajasekhar thanked the government for issuing orders for the sanction of funds.
Mr. Rajasekhar recently met the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and other public representatives in New Delhi to campaign for the temple’s inclusion in the UNESCO list. “The temple which was constructed by the East Ganga dynasty in the eighth century will draw the attention of pilgrims across the nation when it is included in UNESCO’s list. We hope authorities would initiate developmental activities immediately as funds are sanctioned by the State government,” he added.
