Chief Minister M.K. Stalin appoints 84 sportspersons under 3% sports quota, inaugurates projects worth ₹99.68 crore.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin handed over appointment orders to 84 sportspersons under the 3% sports quota at the Secretariat on Monday.
Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, who holds the Youth Welfare and Sports Development portfolio, had announced in the Assembly that 100 sportspersons representing Tamil Nadu in national and international events would be given jobs in government departments and public sector undertakings under the 3% reservation category, according to a press release.
Mr. Stalin inaugurated completed projects to the tune of ₹99.68 crore of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department and flagged off vehicles bought for use of the officers of the Department. He also laid the foundation stone for the construction of new buildings at the cost of ₹25 crore at the Kapaleeswarar Arts and Science College in Kolathur, which is under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.

Currently, only the services in the 32 series stop at the section of the road adjacent to the Broadway terminus, temporarily closed on account of reconstruction work. Small traders association tells R. Ragu that ensuring the services now accommodated at the temporary terminus at Island Grounds stop at NSC Bose road would benefit visitors to the markets in Parrys
