Sri Lanka vs India: Deepak Chahar recalls Rahul Dravid's motivational words after heroic 69 in 2nd ODI
India Today
India tour of Sri Lanka: Deepak Chahar said he was told by Rahul Dravid that he was good enough to bat at No. 7 before he walked out and played a heroic knock of 69 not out in India's 3-wicket win in Colombo on Tuesday.
A few eyebrows were raised when Deepak Chahar walked into bat at No. 7 ahead of Bhuvneshwar Kumar when India were in a spot of bother at 193 for 7 in chase of 276 in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Tuesday. But in the Indian dressing room, head coach Rahul Dravid, it seems, made a conscious decision to send the Chennai Super Kings bowler to the middle. The decision worked wonders as Deepak Chahar came up with a heroic knock, hitting 69 not out -- his maiden ODI hundred. Chahar added an unbeaten 84-run stand for the 8th wicket with Bhuvneshwar Kumar to seal an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series.More Related News
