South Africa returnee tests positive for Covid-19 in Maharashtra's Thane

A South African returnee tested positive for Covid-19 in Dombivali area of Maharashtra's Thane district on Sunday. The person is currently in isolation.

A man who travelled from South Africa to India has tested positive for Covid-19 in Dombivli area of Maharashtra's Thane district. The man's samples have been sent for genome sequencing to ascertain if he was carrying the newly found Omicron variant of coronavirus.

The man is in isolation for now at the Art Gallery isolation centre of the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC). He arrived from South Africa to Delhi on November 24 and then travelled to Mumbai.
