Sotomayor describes 'sense of despair' following Dobbs abortion ruling

After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in its last term, Justice Sonia Sotomayor felt 'shell-shocked' and had 'a sense of despair' about the high court's direction.
"I did have a sense of despair about the direction my court was going," Sotomayor said in an hour-long conversation that was part of The Association of American Law Schools' annual meeting, according to Reuters. Ronn Blitzer is a reporter for Fox News Digital covering politics and breaking news.
Sotomayor did not mention by name the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization – which eliminated the Court's recognition of a constitutional right to abortion – which was decided in the term's final days. She did, however, say that she was "shell-shocked" and "deeply sad" by the time the term ended.
