Soaring house prices create a new crisis in Australia

During Australia's last census, researchers noted a rapid rise in the number of older homeless women -- up 31% in five years -- and there's no sign the trend has slowed down since. If anything, it has worsened and thousands of Australian women are now finding themselves without a safe space to sleep at night.
Her pale blue eyes fill with tears as she describes how she became homeless and her terror of what may happen if she's not able to find a permanent place to stay.
